According to Finland's national statistical institute, 6,003 Russians moved to the Nordic country in 2022. "This is by far the highest figure in 30 years,” the institute notes, specifying that from 1995 to 2021 the number of immigrants from Russia did not exceed 3,100 people annually.
Other large groups of migrants were citizens of Sweden (2,599), India (2,420), Estonia (2,387), the Philippines (2,251), Ukraine (1,533) and Türkiye (1,503). A total of 49,998 people moved to Finland in 2022.
