Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has discussed with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov the process of preparing an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the countries, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, reported from TASS.

During the telephone conversation, the ministers discussed "certain issues of bilateral relations, including the transit of goods and work on an agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation.”

The parties also discussed the progress of construction of the Rasht-Astara railway section in Iran.
