Russia sees the prospect of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia within the trilateral agreements between the heads of state, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on December 27.

She noted that Moscow is interested in the prosperity of the South Caucasus region.

"We see good prospects for the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku on the basis of trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. There are prerequisites for improving relations between Armenia and Türkiye. And in general, we are interested in peace in the South Caucasus and unlocking the rich potential of this region, which could be facilitated, among other things, by expanding interaction within the 3+3 consultative regional platform,” Zakharova added.
