6-magnitude earthquake in Azerbaijan
Five earthquakes occurred in Azerbaijan’s northwest over the past day.
According to the Republican Seismological Center of the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan, their epicenters were in the territory of the Shaki and Gabala regions of the country.
The most recent of the earthquakes was recorded in Gabala at 09.59 today.
With the epicenter 14 kilometers northeast of the regional center, the shock originated at a depth of 5 kilometers.
The quake magnitude was 6. Meanwhile, the tremors in Gabala were estimated at 5 points. Four more quakes were registered in Shaki.
The last tremors in this region occurred at 19.46 yesterday. The epicenter was 6 km east of the regional center at a depth of 9 kilometers. The earthquake magnitude was 3.2.
