Gazprom will hold negotiations with Azerbaijan on potential gas supplies from Russia in June, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Alexander Medvedev said on Tuesday.


"The Azerbaijani side is also interested (in supplies of Russian gas - TASS) and we will hold the next meeting and clarify the demand of the Azerbaijani party in the coming future, probably even at the St. Petersburg (International) Economic Forum," Medvedev said, adding that the country "needs Russian gas."


According to Medvedev, Gazprom takes "the requests of long-term contractors" seriously. Also, he said, the company has "possibilities, resources and transport capacity" for delivering gas to Azerbaijan.
