Georgia to introduce COVID passports

Georgia is going to introduce COVID-19 passports, the Head of the Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze said, Report informs.

According to Gamkrelidze, the exact date of entry into force of the document is still unknown: "There are different approaches to green passports. The Inter-Agency Coordination Council will decide on which of these approaches Georgia will focus."

In turn, the Deputy Health Minister of Georgia Tamar Gabunia said that work is underway with experts on introducing COVID-19 passports.

"After today's meeting of the Coordinating Council, all risks will be taken into account, and the public will be informed about the application of the document," she said.

The green passport is a document confirming vaccination against coronavirus and is required in some countries for people to enter certain facilities and public places.
