Georgian parliament speaker, EC director-general mull country’s co-op with EU

Chairman of the Georgian ParliamentShalva Papuashvili has met with European Commission Director General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, Reportinforms referring to Georgian media.

Papuashvili thanked Koopman for the successful and fruitful cooperation on Georgia’s obtaining the status of a candidate country for accession to the EU.

"The parties discussed the implementation of nine steps defined by the European Union. Koopman expressed readiness for further cooperation with the Georgian side. The parties also reviewed the ongoing events in Georgia and the region,” reads the statement.
