An anorexic who dropped to just 25kg (4st) in weight has saved herself by getting a job at McDonald’s.Jo Thompson battled the eating disorder for six years. At one point, doctors gave her just 48 hours to live.But in a bid to break the cycle and get used to seeing people eat around her, she applied for a job at a fast food chain in 2007 and soon fell in love with her manager, Zoheb.They now have two healthy children and the 21-year-old insists the days of anorexia are behind her. She has now left McDonald’s and is studying at college.The mother of two from Solihull, West Midlands, said: ‘I would allow myself a glass of water before bed and lived off a couple of peas during my time in hospital.

‘Nurses would hold me down to stop me from star jumping and losing more weight. I want my story to show that anyone can become anorexic – and it isn’t a choice girls make.’
