Goalkeeper enjoys wonder debut with this ridiculous goal

The start of the new football season has already had a decent amount of thrills and spills, despite being barely more than a day old.

Blackpool had only nine players registered on the morning of their defeat to Nottingham Forest; 41-year-old Exeter boss Paul Tisdale named himself on the bench after an illness spread through his squad; and Huddersfield manager Mark Robins has got the boot after only one game. But the maddest event of the whole opening weekend came in Scotland as Hibernian faced Livingston in the Scottish Championship.Hibs, relegated last season, handed a debut to goalkeeper Mark Oxley, who has joined them on loan from Hull for six months, and after only 16 minutes he did this to put them 2-0 up:With a lovely piece of understatement, manager Alan Stubbs said: “In all honesty, I didn’t think Mark would score the winning goal today, but it’s won us the game."Oxley, 24, who has had previous loan spells with Oldham, Burton, Grimsby and Walsall, is now aiming for a rather unlikely club record:“Let’s say I meant it! I’ve never done anything like that before. One of their players was standing near me so I couldn’t put it down to kick it so I just smashed it as hard as I could – and it went in. I thought it was going to be headed away or the keeper was going to stand back and catch it but there must have been a bit of indecision at the back.“I should feel bad for the other keeper but I don’t at all – I don’t get many chances to celebrate like that. “Someone told me Andy Goram got two goals here so I’m going to go for three this season!”(uk.eurosport.yahoo.com)Bakudaily.Az
