Trump announces ‘a little progress’ in efforts to settle Ukraine conflict
US President-elect Donald Trump has announced "a little progress" in efforts to settle the conflict in Ukraine, reported from TASS.
"We're trying to help very strongly in getting the hostages back, as you know, with Israel and the Middle East. We're working very much on that. We're trying to get the war stopped, that horrible, horrible war that's going on in Ukraine," he said in comments at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. "We've got a little progress."
He didn’t elaborate.
On December 7, Trump met with Zelenskyy for the first time after winning the election. According to Reuters, Zelenskyy insisted that the West provide Ukraine with security guarantees after the end of the conflict, while the US president-elect reiterated that he wanted an immediate ceasefire and start of negotiations.
