Hulusi Akar: If Armenia takes wrong path, consequences will be severe

If Armenia takes the wrong path, the consequences will be severe, the former national defense minister of Türkiye, the Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly, Hulusi Akar, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, told journalists during a visit to the Alley of Martyrs.

He said that some want to turn Armenia into a proxy state: "If Armenia takes this wrong path, it will face severe consequences again, as in the Second Karabakh War. This should not be allowed. What is important for us is peace, stability, and the future of the Caucasus.”

Akar said that Armenia should hold the hand of peace extended by Azerbaijan: "Peace and stability should come to the region as soon as possible. We strive for this. Provocations and pressures are not good for Armenia and the region."

The former minister noted that Türkiye and Azerbaijan continue their cooperation: "Our close cooperation in the field of defense industry continues.”
