Hungary's Orban slams von der Leyen, demands change in EU leadership

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has called for the replacement of Ursula von der Leyen as President of the European Commission (EC), labeling the past five years as the worst in EU history.

According to the information, in an interview with German media group Funke, the Hungarian leader proposed this change when asked why he is hindering von der Leyen's appointment for a second term.

Orban attributed his stance to von der Leyen's "ow efficiency," stating that the "green" transformation has been a complete management failure and the migration package fails to address the issues at hand.
He emphasized that Europe requires more effective leadership and that there are plenty of talented politicians capable of delivering it.

The prime minister highlighted that in the recent European Parliament elections, people demonstrated their desire for change in Brussels.

"The past five years have possibly been the worst five years in EU history. The successes of the European Commission and the Brussels elite are weak," Orban remarked. He expressed dissatisfaction with the current situation, noting that the same ruling coalition appears likely to remain in power.
