Reported from Ukrainian media that IAEA General Director Rafael Grossi said the level of the Kakhovka water reservoir has been shrinking since the serious breach in the lower dam due to a blast at HPP.
According to data obtained by IAEA experts at the ZNPP site, on June 11, the water level at the Zaporizhzhya (ZTPP) was estimated at 11.27 meters compared to almost 17 meters before the dam collapse.
However, it is reported that the height continues to drop elsewhere in the reservoir, which could result in a difference of about 2 meters compared to the level reported by the CHP plant.
The height of the water level is a key parameter for the continuous operation of water pumps, the statement said.
"Perhaps this discrepancy in the measured levels is caused by an isolated reservoir, separated from a larger reservoir. But we will only know about this when we get access to the thermal power plant,” Grossi emphasizes.
