Ilham Aliyev received credentials of incoming German ambassador

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received credentials of incoming ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Kindsgrab.

Ambassador Michael Kindsgrab reviewed a guard of honor.  Michael Kindsgrab presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. The President of Azerbaijan then spoke to the ambassador.


The head of state said Azerbaijani-German relations were developing very successfully. The President recalled his successful June visit to Germany and his meeting with German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Warsaw. President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijani-German cooperation was at a very active stage. Saying that there was big mutual interest in the economic area, the head of state said he witnessed this during the business forum in Berlin. The President highlighted the activity of many German companies in Azerbaijan, adding that the German companies were interested in doing business in the country not only as contractors, but also as investors. The head of state underlined the importance of maintaining Azerbaijani-German political dialogue based on mutual trust and confidence. President Ilham Aliyev pointed to good opportunities for cooperation in a variety of areas, including energy, transportation and security. The President wished the ambassador success in his activity.


Incoming ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Kindsgrab thanked the head of state for the reception. He said he received concrete instructions on development of the bilateral relations from Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel and FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The ambassador said Angela Merkel and Frank-Walter Steinmeier were interested in expanding relations with stable, developing and partner Azerbaijan. The ambassador said Azerbaijan`s international influence had grown in the past few years. Michael Kindsgrab said he would spare no efforts to expand Germany`s cooperation with Azerbaijan in a range of areas, including politics, economy, energy security and culture.


Reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, as well as prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, security, healthcare, tourism, culture and other fields were discussed at the meeting.
