Mahmoud Vaezi, who is in Baku to meet with Azerbaijani officials, held talks with his counterpart Ramin Guluzade on Saturday, and highlighted the importance of information technology and its role in the development of countries.
During the meeting, the two sides called for further IT cooperation and creating better security in this sector. They also reached an agreement to hold expert panels on various fields such as IT, satellites, post and post bank.
The Iranian ICT minister presented a report on the Islamic Republic's scientific and research capacities in the fields of IT and ICT, expressing the country's readiness to expand space and satellite cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Vaezi also maintained that the two sides agreed to investigate the frequency disturbances in cell phones, radio and television, and make joint efforts to reduce them.
Vaezi had also held a meeting with Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, during which the two sides stressed the enhancement of ties in agriculture, tourism industry, banking, pharmaceutical industry, and transportation, among others.
