Iran declares readiness to develop ties with Russia in petrochemical sector

Iran is ready to provide Russia with technical and engineering services, as well as chemicals and catalysts used in the petrochemical industry, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Morteza Shahmirzai said at the Rosplast-2023 exhibition taking place in Moscow these days.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide technical and engineering services and cooperation in the field of chemicals and catalysts needed by the Russian oil and petrochemical industry in the context of sanctions against this country," he said.

Shahmirzai invited Russian investors to participate in Iran's program to develop the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. He stressed that Iran has rich experience in overcoming the difficulties arising from sanctions, and said that investment projects will increase the potential of the petrochemical industry of the Islamic Republic from 92 to 140 million tons, and then, within the framework of a 6-year plan, up to 200 million tons.
