Iran progress on nuclear dilution “good but more to be done”
04.03.2014 14:00
Iran is complying with demands to reduce its nuclear stocks, but much work remains to be done – that is the view of the UN’s nuclear watchdog chief Yukiya Amano. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is charged with checking whether Iran is adhering to the six-month agreement to curb its nuclear programme.

The country is diluting their highly enriched uranium in order to receive millions of euros worth of blocked overseas funding scheduled for the beginning of March, though it is not clear whether the money has been released. The deal had been designed to buy time for talks on a final settlement over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The West fears enrichment of uranium over 20% as it can become weapons-grade material. Iran continues to state that its programme is for purely peaceful purposes and announced plans to build a second nuclear plant in Bushehr beginning in April.(euronews.com)ANN.Az
