Islamic Games: Azerbaijan secures another medal

Azerbaijani athletes won another medal at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games,

Taekwandoist Patimat Abakarova (49 kg) advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Farida Sauman of Nigeria.

With this, she secured at least a bronze medal.

Azerbaijan won 3 medals during the first five days of the competition. Anna Skidan (athletics, vaulting) won gold, Alexis Copello (athletics, triple jump) - silver, and Hashim Mahammadov (taekwondo) - bronze medals. With this result, Azerbaijan is in 9th place in the medal ranking.
