"I send my condolences to the countries and families of the WCKitchen aid organization workers who were killed in Gaza. The IDF and decision-makers are doing and will do everything to prevent harm to civilians. The incident will be investigated by qualified authorities to ensure that necessary conclusions are drawn to guarantee the safety and security of aid workers going forward," Israel Katz said in a post on X.
Earlier, the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Daniel Hagari, said that he personally expressed condolences to the leadership of WCK in connection with the death of the organization’s employees. He assured that the army has already launched a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances of the incident in order to prevent the recurrence of similar situations.
On April 2, World Central Kitchen, a humanitarian organization that provides free meals to victims of natural disasters and conflicts, received reports that its staff were killed when their vehicle was hit south of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
