Japan provides Ukraine with $118M in non-refundable aid

The Ukrainian state budget has received $118 million in non-repayable funds from the Japanese government, reported from RBC Ukraine.

The funds are provided within the framework of the World Bank projects "Health Enhancement And Lifesaving (HEAL) Ukraine Project" and "Housing Repair for People's Empowerment Project (HOPE)", according to the Ministry of Finance.

The funds under the HEAL and HOPE projects will help the government expand the range of medical services and access to them, as well as overcome the consequences of Russia's armed aggression and rebuild Ukraine's housing infrastructure.

The grant funding from the Government of Japan consists of:

USD 70 million under the World Bank's HEAL Ukraine project to support the State Budget as compensation for the expenditures incurred under the medical guarantee program.

USD 48.2 million as part of the World Bank's HOPE project. The project funds are used to compensate State Budget expenditures used to make compensation payments to homeowners for repairs in apartments and private houses in need of minor and medium repairs.
