Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to visit Azerbaijan in the first half of 2017, Kazakh ambassador to Azerbaijan Beibit Isabayev said at a press-conference in Baku Dec. 27.
President Nazarbayev planned to visit Azerbaijan on October 12 but he was forced to cancel the visit due to cold, according to Trend.
The ambassador added that the representatives of the Kazakh state agencies and departments will also visit Azerbaijan in 2017.
He recalled that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations in the future.
Isabayev said that all events planned to be held by the Kazakh embassy in Azerbaijan in 2016 were held.
In particular, the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate and the 25th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan were celebrated. A photo exhibition of Kazakh photographers and an event dedicated to People's Artist of Kazakhstan Altynbek Korazbaev were held.
"2016 was eventful and productive," Isabayev said.
He recalled that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are actively cooperating in the field of culture.
The contacts between Al Farabi Kazakh National University and Baku State University were established. The Abay center is doing a great job for the development of cultural relations between the two countries.
Isabayev also stressed that for 25 years of independence Kazakhstan, as Azerbaijan, have become recognizable and respected members of the international community.
"We are pleased that Kazakhstan’s many initiatives are supported by other countries," he said.
The ambassador also added that Kazakhstan is pleased with fraternal Azerbaijan’s success, in particular, a number of sporting events successfully held in Azerbaijan.
He also stressed that Kazakhstan has always supported Azerbaijan in the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.c
