Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Madrid in the coming days, where he and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will sign a security agreement, according to the El Pais newspaper,  reported from TASS.

This implies a document similar to the one that Kyiv has already signed with several countries, including Germany, Italy or France. The purpose of the agreement, among other things, is to guarantee sustainable long-term military support for Ukraine.

The agreement is expected to be approved by the Spanish Council of Ministers, but will not be submitted to the kingdom's parliament for ratification, since the document does not have the legal status of an international treaty. According to the newspaper's sources, the agreement will likely determine the amount of assistance that Madrid is ready to provide to Kyiv in the coming years.

Perhaps Spanish military support will be sent to Ukraine through NATO. The alliance can take over the coordination of supplies to Kyiv from different countries, replacing the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, led by the US.
