Latvia and France announce new aid package for Ukraine

The Latvian government has approved a new aid package of EUR 9.6 million for Ukraine for 2024, reported from foreign media.

According to the decision of the Latvian parliament, the package includes EUR 5.3 million for Ukraine's reconstruction and EUR 4.3 million for support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine through the European Peace Facility.

Those funds will be directed to the recovery and reconstruction of the Chernihiv region, including reconstruction of social infrastructure in the region, psychological assistance to women, digitalization, consultations on territorial planning, and integration into the EU.

According to another piece of information, the Minister of Defense of France, Sébastien Lecornu, said that France will send hundreds of used armored combat vehicles to Ukraine. He added that this is included in the package of military aid intended for Ukraine until 2025.

The minister noted that those techniques that have already been developed are still usable.
