Lavrov to visit China soon

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit China in the near future, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing,  reported from Interfax.

She noted that negotiations are planned with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The date of the visit will soon be announced "together with Chinese colleagues.”

"The foreign ministers are expected to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, interaction in the international arena with an emphasis on joint work in the UN, BRICS, SCO, G20, APEC and other multilateral mechanisms and forums,” Zakharova added.

She said that "a thorough exchange of views is expected on a number of hot topics, regional issues, including the Ukrainian crisis, the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and other problems.”
