Nasib Mahammaliyev, head of the Nasimi district executive authorities, and Asim Mollazade, chairman of the Democratic Reforms party who represents the district in Azerbaijan’s parliament, have met Randall Tweed from Grossmont Collage in the US state of California.
The idea of fostering closer relations between Baku’s Nasimi district and Switzer Highland district of San Diego was discussed at the meeting.
It was said that closer cooperation between the Nasimi and Switzer Highland districts would help boost ties between the two communities in the areas of culture, economy and education. The participants in the meeting had a wide exchange of views on projects to be implemented jointly by the Nasimi and Switzer Highland districts in the future.
The Switzer Highland and Nasimi districts were declared sister neighborhoods.
A special declaration on the first sister neighborhood partnership in the US was signed by San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and a member of City Council, Todd Gloria, before being submitted to Nasib Mahammaliyev and Asim Mollazade.
