Malaysian airliner shot down by Russia, Erdoğan says

Malaysian airliner was shot down by Russia, presidential candidate, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in his pre-election meeting in Bursa, Hurriyet newspaper reports.

“What was the plane carrying? A plane flying from Holland to Malaysia was shot down over Ukraine. What an approach is it? What a concept is it? But we would try for peace in the world?”, he stated. The Prime Minister also drew attention to the military operations in Gaza and called the Israeli operations “genocide”. “They are one of those who say that we are strong and we can strike how we want. And we say that your power is limited. Don’t forget that there is a great trap on these traps and you will also fall into this trap”, he said. An airliner en route from Holland to Malaysia was shot down over Donetsk region, Ukraine on July 17, killing all 298 on board.
