Media: Türkiye took tough stance ahead of meeting on Sweden’s NATO membership

If Stockholm doesn’t take steps to implement the agreements with Ankara, Türkiye won’t approve Sweden’s membership in NATO, reported from TGRT Haber TV channel.

"Today, the most important meeting in Brussels before the NATO leaders’ summit will take place. The foreign ministers and heads of intelligence agencies of Türkiye, Sweden and Finland will hold a high-level meeting... Sweden has not yet taken the steps that Türkiye expects. Although on June 1, Sweden adopted against terrorism, Stockholm did not extradite the RKK and FETÖ terrorists at the request of Ankara. Türkiye has made it clear that it will not approve Sweden’s membership in NATO if Sweden doesn’t take these steps,” the TV channel said.

The Turkish side will be represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, head of the National Intelligence Organization Ibrahim Kalin and presidential adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic.
