The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian hypersonic Kh-47 Kinzhal missile in the sky over Kyiv for the first time,  reported from Defense Express.

A ballistic target was likely shot down by Patriot air defenses. The publication posted photos of the wreckage of the X-47 Kinzhal missile, namely the nose cone with traces of damage, which was shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 4.

Defense Express writes that although the Kinzhal accelerates to hypersonic speeds due to the accelerator, it cannot maintain high speed all the time.

On the night of May 4, the Russian Armed Forces carried out another attack on Kyiv using Shahed UAVs and missiles, probably of a ballistic type. The air defense forces destroyed all enemy targets, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
