MFA: Russia hasn’t yet received proposals for meeting to normalize Baku-Yerevan relations

Russia hasn’t yet received official requests from Türkiye to hold a quadrilateral meeting to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, reported from TASS.

"Yes, we have seen materials on this matter in the media, but we have not yet received official requests from the Turkish side,” she said.

She noted that Russia "traditionally maintains a close dialogue with Ankara on various aspects of the international agenda, including the situation in the South Caucasus.”

Recently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a proposal to organize a quadrilateral meeting with the participation of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia.

"We propose holding a quadrilateral meeting with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, me and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” he told Turkish journalists at a press conference on September 16.
