The former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will stand the next trial today.

The hearing will begin at 11:00 (UTC +4) in Tbilisi City Court.

The lawsuit is on the waste of large amounts of public funds.

The vehicles of the Special Penitentiary Service entered the Gori Military Hospital, where he is being treated, to bring him to court.

The United National Movement Party will hold a protest in parallel with the trial.

Saakashvili took part in the court hearing on November 29 as well.

Georgia's third president was detained in Tbilisi on October 1 and placed in a prison in Rustavi. He was treated at the Gldani Prison Hospital in Tbilisi on November 8. The politician, who has been on a 50-day hunger strike, was transferred to a military hospital in Gori on November 20. Saakashvili then stopped the hunger strike.
