Three Azerbaijani army servicemen were injured in a landmine explosion on the Armenian border in western Tovuz District, the Defense Ministry in Baku said.

The servicemen were hospitalized with injuries that "are not life-threatening”, the ministry said on its website.

The ministry said it believes the landmine was planted during the war with Armenia in the early 1990s.

The incident is being investigated by the Military Prosecutor’s office.
