Sooner or later, NATO has to come to the conversation about security guarantees for Ukraine, said NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană.

"I cannot prejudge; it’s above my paygrade to tell you when and how because our leaders, you in the national parliaments, you will be ratifying. So this is a political conversation as well as a practical military or other consideration. So I trust that the Open Door policy, which is enshrined in the Washington Treaty, will continue to be a reality. And as soon as conditions will allow, we’ll be coming to such conversations," he added.
