Azercell Telecom, the leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan paying a special attention to development of professional journalism in the country, organized another professional training course for the students of Baku State University Faculty of Journalists on May 19-20, 2015. The course was moderated by the professional journalist from the United Kingdom Dan Mason, who is also an experienced specialist in the field of digital journalism and social media. Along with Azerbaijan, he has always been running training courses in Georgia, Qatar, Israel, Egypt, China, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, Cyprus and several EU states. Mr. Mason is in media business for 25 years with the experience in daily newspapers and magazines in the United Kingdom.
The training course presented by Azercell elaborated on the multimedia features of Google search engine, interaction with social networks as well as opening of blogs. The participants learned of web site and blog development, photo/video shooting and editing.
At the end of the training course Azercell presented certificates to all of the participants. We would like to remind that Azercell has organized many different training courses for journalists. Azercell also ran first training for regional journalists. In addition to training courses, Azercell also implements different projects aimed at journalists’ comprehensive development. Over 6 years Azercell supports English language courses to help local journalists in the development of their language skills.
