Moscow to cancel mass events during non-working days

The Moscow authorities will ban mass cultural, sports and entertainment events in the city from October 28 to November 7, mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin said, informs  TASS.

"It is forbidden to hold mass cultural, sports, advertising, entertainment and other events, with the exception of events held by decision of state authorities, or in agreement with the department of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian consumer watchdog) in Moscow,” the mayor wrote.

He also explained that theaters and museums of Moscow can continue to work. "However, their attendance will be possible only if the occupancy of the premises is not more than 50 percent, the use of QR codes and protective masks,” Sobyanin said.

He noted that the federal authorities are recommended to make similar decisions in relation to the cultural organizations under their jurisdiction.
