The curious object can be seen flying at night while the bemused onlookers record the video.
A perplexed witness posted the footage online asking for help identifying the UFO which was caught hanging in airspace over Groningen, Netherlands.
The bewildered spectator said he was walking to his car with his girlfriend when he spotted the puzzling object.
In a statement below the post, he wrote: "It wasn't an airplane and it sure wasn't a satellite.
"This object was changing speed constantly (from fast to slow to fast, etc.) and wasn't moving in a straight line.
"Luckily we caught it on camera!”
The bemusing video ignited debate between investigators online, with some claiming it could be the International Space Station.
One user wrote: "And that can’t be the ISS?”
But another enthusiast tried to debunk the suggestion that it could be a sign of alien life.
He wrote: "Drone! That's a drone (multi-copter) with LED lights on, I have one with lights on and it's amazing what it looks like at night high up and moves very quick.”
It comes just days after another picture of a UFO appearing to leave a trail across the sky surfaced online.
In the image it looks like a so-called cigar-shaped UFO, which left trail almost like that of a plane.
An unnamed witness who photographed the flying object from a back garden immediately reported the sighting to official investigators because they were puzzled by it.
In a brief report to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) the homeowner, from New Orleans in America, said: "It blocked out the sun's rays."The person said they "observed the object's activity in all lines" of their vision."
But the trail also appears to be lit up by sunlight.
The witness said the object almost had the appearance of a start before fading.
They added: "Watched star-like object doing sharp turns, flying across the sky and fading."
