NATO: Russia's war against Ukraine was serious strategic mistake by Putin
11.07.2023 15:00
Russia's war against Ukraine was a serious strategic mistake by Putin, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at a briefing on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

He said that Russia underestimated Ukraine's military capabilities: "Putin did not want the expansion of NATO. He made a war for this purpose. But Finland joined the Alliance. Sweden is also moving in this direction. Thus, Putin made a big strategic mistake."

According to the Secretary-General, membership happened very quickly: "It is the first time in history that countries have joined NATO so quickly. This shows the solidarity within NATO."
