NATO Sec.-Gen. hopes Hungary and Türkiye to approve Sweden’s membership in alliance

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expects that the parliaments of Hungary and Türkiye will soon ratify agreements on Sweden’s admission to NATO,  reported from TASS.

He was speaking in an interview with the Hungarian online publication Index on the eve of a two-day meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance countries in Brussels, which begins on November 28.

Stoltenberg said he welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s request to the Grand National Assembly (parliament) of the republic to ratify the protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO.

He also reminded that he recently discussed this issue with Hungarian President Katalin Novak at a meeting in Brussels.
