Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, said that it respects Russia's decision on annexation of the Crimea. The statement of the Foreign Ministry, released on March 18, reads on the website of the agency: "In connection with the referendum in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, on March 16, 2014 , Kazakhstan reiterated its commitment to fundamental principles of international law in accordance with the UN Charter."
At the same time it is stated that "Kazakhstan assessed last referendum in Crimea as the free expression of the will of the population of the Autonomous Republic, and respects the decision of the Russian Federation under the circumstances." "We support peaceful ways out of the crisis in Ukraine, and its overcoming through the negotiation process under the auspices of the UN and other international organizations," reads the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
