"The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said that 897 aid trucks entered Gaza on Tuesday, as humanitarian assistance continues to surge into the Gaza Strip following months of Israeli restrictions," the report reads.
OCHA warned two weeks ago that the hunger crisis in Gaza was getting worse due to restricted access to the Palestinian enclave.
The resumption of humanitarian supplies became possible after Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, announced on January 15 that Doha, Cairo and Washington had brokered an agreement between Israel and Hamas to release the hostages held in Gaza and declare a ceasefire in the enclave. The deal took effect on January 19.
