"As I have already told the Prime Minister, the United States unequivocally rejects any proposal to resettle Palestinians outside Gaza. And the Prime Minister confirmed to me today that this is not the policy of the Israeli government,” Blinken noted.
He also said that the United States and Israel are seeking to prevent further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East through diplomacy.
"We and the Israeli government believe that the diplomatic path is the best way to achieve security. This is exactly what we will continue to strive for,” Blinken said.
The situation in the Middle East sharply worsened after the infiltration of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, which was accompanied by the killing of residents of border settlements and the capture of more than 200 hostages, including children, women and the elderly.
The Israeli side responded by announcing the start of Operation Iron Swords, which continues to this day.
