The number of presidential candidates in Russia has reached 33 people, said Russian Central Election Commission head Ella Pamfilova.

She added that the Central Election Commission received documents from eight candidates nominated by political parties for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, as well as from six self-nominated candidates to register groups of voters who supported them.

"Eight candidates nominated at the congresses of political parties managed to submit their documents to the Central Election Commission. Although there is no candidate yet, the Communist Party of Russia has the opportunity to do so until January 1," Pamfilova said.
