Number of tax audits greatly down in Azerbaijan

The number of field tax audits decreased threefold in Azerbaijan n 2018 compared to 2017, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alakbarov said on Jan. 29.

Alakbarov made the remarks at a conference in Baku dedicated to the results of the implementation of the State Program on the Social and Economic Development of the Regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2018.

"About 1,500 field tax audits were conducted in 2018,” he added.

A moratorium on business inspections is in effect in Azerbaijan till January 2021, but it does not apply to tax audits of the companies with an annual turnover exceeding 120,000 manats.

At the same time, the moratorium also does not affect usual inspections and a number of other tax audits, which are conducted in the companies with an annual turnover less than 120,000 manats.
