Online B2G Forum, chaired by Elmir Velizade, takes place

The online B2G forum, organized by the Caspian European Club, has been held.

In addition to the information-communication technologies sector representatives, participating in the forum, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade, were also representatives of the government agencies and business firms representing the transport sector.

Discussed at the forum were challenges and problems of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic-affected companies.  The event participants also spoke about the state support measures taken to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on both information and communication technologies and the transport sector.

Addressing the forum, Deputy Minister Elmir Velizade noted that the country's leadership has set a goal to turn Azerbaijan into a regional transport hub. At the same time, he noted that the "video conferencing as a service” (VCaaS)  service was for the first time launched in Azerbaijan during that period thanks to the Azcloud cloud infrastructure of AzInTelecom LLC operating under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
"Now any company or institution, regardless of distance, can continue operating at a high level by conducting continuous video meetings both globally and within the republic.  "Technical and technological support from AzInTelecom, accurate construction of a functional system at international video conferences, dedicated to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, ensure a stable and high-quality live connection and make it possible to conduct cloud technology-based meetings”. According to him, the role of the ICT sector in the country's economy is very important in any conditions, as well as in the pandemic period.

In the meantime, speaking about transit potential and infrastructure of our country, the Deputy Minister noted that the existing infrastructure allows local, including foreign transport and logistics companies, to carry out cargo transportation in all directions. The Deputy Minister also answered the questions addressed by the event participants.

Head of the Transport Policy Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic Azer Aliyev, Deputy Head of the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic Ibrahim Aliyev, as well as top-managers of public and private companies representing different sectors of economy, also took part in the online forum.
On behalf of the top managers of the member companies, Chairman and CEO of the Caspian European Club Telman Aliyev expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic for open discussions.
It is noteworthy that a B2G forum, introduced by the Caspian European Club, serves as unique platform for an international business networking.
