The defense ministers of Poland and Canada have discussed increasing the size of the Canadian contingent present on NATO’s eastern flank, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Marcin Kosiniak-Kamysz said following negotiations with his Canadian colleague William Blair, reported from TASS.

"[During the meeting, the parties] made very important statements related to the strengthening of Canada’s presence in Poland, Canadian troops on the eastern flank of NATO,” Kosiniak-Kamysz noted.

The Canadian military was sent to Poland at the end of June 2015. This happened after on June 9 of the same year, representatives of the defense ministries of the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of strengthening defense and ensuring security.
