More than 300 cargo planes carrying humanitarian aid for the population of the Gaza Strip have landed at the airport in the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, located in the north of the Sinai Peninsula since the escalation of tensions in the Palestinian enclave, said the head of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in North Sinai province Khaled Zayed,  reported from TASS.

"From October 12 to the present, 305 planes with humanitarian aid to the residents of the sector arrived at Al-Arish airport,” Zayed said. He added that 8,500 tons of medicines, food products, clothing, tents, personal hygiene products, as well as dozens of ambulances and several field hospitals were delivered to northern Sinai by plane for their deployment in the enclave.

According to Zayed, assistance to the Palestinians by air came from the UN, UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross, WHO, the EU and several other international humanitarian and charitable organizations. Thirty countries sent planes carrying humanitarian aid to Al-Arish.
