A letter from UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the grain deal has been sent through diplomatic channels and is being considered, Dmitry Peskov, Spokesperson of the Russian president, told reporters on Wednesday.

The grain deal, which was signed on July 22, 2022, by representatives of Russia, Türkiye, Ukraine and the UN, involves the export of Ukrainian grain, food and fertilizer across the Black Sea from Ukrainian ports.

According to Russia, on March 18, 2023, the deal was extended for 60 days - until May 18. Ukraine insists that the deal has been extended for 120 days
