Speaking at the B2B Forum themed "Green Technology and Sustainable Development" held in Baku, Michalko emphasized that during COP29, the world's attention will be focused on the Azerbaijani capital. "For two weeks, world leaders will gather here to meet and engage in discussions related to international climate policy," he stated.
The diplomat noted that there are numerous issues to be addressed, ranging from the development of various legislative acts related to green technologies to other pressing matters. "As the EU, we are ready to support Azerbaijan's commitments in this field and share our experiences to achieve the best results in this direction," Michalko confirmed.
He further highlighted the crucial role of renewable energy and energy efficiency in combating climate change. "These enable the reduction of demand for fossil fuels, coal, and natural gas, making a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions," the ambassador explained.
