Police detain second Armenian president’s son during Yerevan protests

Police officers have detained the son of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, during protests in Yerevan, reported from Sputnik-Armenia.

Protest rally resumed in different parts of the city in the morning, supporters of the Resistance movement began to block traffic.

The ex-president's son Levon Kocharyan also took part in them. After some time, the police began to detain the demonstrators, the security forces took away Kocharyan, who at that moment was on Hanrapetutyan Street in the center of the capital.

In his Telegram channel, Kocharyan later wrote: "I was brought to prison. We don't give up. We continue."

In addition, the police detained Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party Armen Ashotyan and ex-deputy from Prosperous Armenia Naira Zohrabyan.

On the morning of May 17, protest rally resumed in different parts of the city, supporters of the Resistance movement began to block traffic. The opposition is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
