He noted that the state oil companies of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Romania (Romgaz) have a long history of good cooperation.
"Romania always had a very good relationship with Azerbaijan, especially after Black Sea region became a reality that is acknowledged as having a strategic importance by the EU and US,” he added.
"The recent agreement signed in February 2023 is just the peak of this cooperation and the visit of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Baku shows very well the level of interest in Romania-Azerbaijan cooperation.”
"Azerbaijani gas could cover only 10-15% of the gas Russian Federation provided. I am sure Azerbaijan will act in full understanding that the EU wants to get rid of Russian gas dependence,” he noted.
As is known, Azerbaijan and the EU have agreed on joint actions to increase energy supplies from the Caspian Sea to Europe and are discussing joint actions in this direction.
