Azerbaijani defense ministry denies Armenian disinformation

Azerbaijani defense ministry denies Armenian disinformation
14.04.2025 15:57

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has denied Armenian claims that Azerbaijani forces allegedly shelled the settlement of Khanazakh.

According to the ministry, the reports of shelling and alleged damage to a cultural center are unfounded, false, and constitute disinformation.

"The Azerbaijani army did not open fire in that direction. Once again, we emphasize that our units never target civilians or civilian infrastructure. The Azerbaijani army only takes proportionate measures in response to provocations by Armenian armed forces, which open fire on our positions," the ministry said.

It also stated that by spreading such disinformation, the Armenian side seeks to mislead the international community and divert attention from its own provocations, which include repeated attacks on Azerbaijani positions in recent days from various directions.
